This Moment

It is a gloriously blustery afternoon here. Jessica stayed to lunch at school for the first time (more on this another day) and we walked home together gathering little treasures…a conker, some tiny pinecones, and bunches of sycamore keys.

I’ve fed Alice and she has fallen asleep on my chest while I sip Earl Grey. The wind is blustering, Alice is softly sighing, and Jessica is happily playing. Happy moments.

  1. The saying ‘we do not remember days, we remember moments’ comes to mind. Yours, described here, common and ordinary, are lovely moments to remember. It’s the little things that I remember, more so than the big or traumatic things. When the sweet moments with my babes drift to the forefront, my heart smiles and a feeling of contentment comes over me, washing me with peace. Reading this snippet about your day, triggered those feelings. What lovely times, you are having!
